Still Growing...

Only a week since the last post and Mommy's belly has gotten even larger!!!

Co-workers are commenting every day that my belly's bigger than the day before. My next prenatal checkup is May 26th. Shortly after that appointment the midwife will have to transfer care to an OB doctor. Multiples pregnancies are considered high risk in America and so twin births are restricted to hospitals with obstetric doctors and water birth is out of the question. I'm very disappointed, as Chris and I were looking forward to a water birth in a birthing center with minimal intervention. We can only hope and pray now that we can find an obstetric doctor who sympathizes with our wishes to have as natural a birth as possible without endagering the babies or myself. I strongly believe that childbirth is a natural event and wish to avoid cesarean. Please keep us in your prayers as we search for an obstetric doctor.

Growing Mommy!

The week before the ultrasounds, no one could tell that Mommy was even pregnant... A week later, everyone's shocked to find out that Mommy's only 17 weeks into the pregnancy... The babies are making themselves known!

The Kicker

That's Baby 1's foot coming down on Baby 2's head!!!

Unexpected News

April 28th, 2006 Mommy went for an ultrasound and was shocked by the ultrasound tech's announcement... "Here's baby 1 and there's baby 2". Baby 1 was very active throughout the hour and a half of ultrasound pictures, kicking Baby 2 in the head and doing aerobics that left no doubt as to his sex. As you can see from this ultrasound picture, Baby 1 is not shy. The blob next to Baby 1's waving legs is Baby 2's head.
